ABOUT THE BOOK
Sugar does not only cause overweight
and diabetes but also malnutrion. Six out of ten Danish children
eat more sugar than recommended, every fourth 15-year-old is
overweight. The intake of sugar means that the intake of important
nutrients become too low, but fortunately it does not take too many
changes or sacrifices to lead a sugar-sensible family life - it
simply takes knowledge, the right tools and a healthy portion of
reflection.
The book is a mixture of knowledge,
anecdotes and personal cases. The Sugar Sheriff does not say NO to
sugar. Sugar is okay, just not in the amounts that we are used to.
Stay away from ice cream, soda and cake from Monday to Friday, but
by all means do enjoy it during the weekends. The Sugar Sheriff
simply recommends a 5+2-system: five days without and two days with
sugar.
