ABOUT THE BOOK
Herbs are easy to grow and you don't
need a garden - they thrive just as well in a pot on the terrace,
the balcony or on your windowsill. With their heavenly scents and
wonderful colours they enrich everyday life, making more out of
every meal
You can drink them as teas, as
tranquilizers or tonics, or add them as a special flavour to cold
drinks. Their flowers look pretty in salads and desserts - there's
a world of possibilities within your reach.
In this extensive book, Anemette Olesen
gives advice on how to make a bed of herbs or grow them in pots and
jars. She goes through 107 different herbs, explaining their
histories, how to groom and breed them and how to use the various
sorts, complete with illustrations. She discusses both the old
familiar herbs as well as several new sorts, sorts from Asia and
the wild ones you can find in nature or cultivate on your own.
The book provides insight into the
history of medicinal herbs as well as tips on how to store them for
winter use, how to mix them together for casseroles, add them to
barbecues and in desserts, telling you which herbs are compatible
with one another.
