ABOUT THE BOOK
Sumptuous Surprises is a surprise party in cookbook form, created
by Tina Scheftelowitz, one of Denmark's bestselling cookbook
authors. Plenty of dazzle is provided by a colorful layout,
and the author makes use of all sorts of fun, serious, inviting,
and wacky themes to present recipes for all meals of the day at any
time of the year, including ideas for festive occasions.
The book is divided into seasons, so
that you'll be able to find the raw ingredients when they're at
their peak. These are not expensive or difficult- to-find
ingredients, but rather products that we're all familiar with. At
most, you may have to stop by a health-food store or a particularly
well-stocked produce section to find what you need. As usual,
Tina's multi-national kitchen offers suggestions for food with a
little extra spice, kick, and pizzazz - plus lots of tips, along
with her ever-popular humorous take on cooking.
Sections include: Sumptuous salads with
brilliant bubbles (dealing with sparkling vinegars), Radish
refinements, Raw-food revival, Flower foods, A trip in a time
machine (dealing with retro recipes), Danish dynamite, New Nordic
pasta, Super salmon, and New Year's - upside down (see the
cover).
With Sumptuous Surprises, Tina
Scheftelowitz has created a cornucopia of practical recipes
presented together with a wealth of fabulous pictures. This is both
the perfect coffee table book, because it's so beautifully
produced, and an indispensable cookbook for the kitchen because
it's brimming with recipes that you'll want to use again and again.
As the author herself says: this is a book that will "enrich,
enrapture, and entertain at the dinner table."

culmination of the author's extensive cookbook endeavors to
date.
