ABOUT THE BOOK
Birthdays and other holidays often provide an excuse to gorge on
sugar. And since so many special occasions are celebrated in
day-care centers, in schools, and at the workplace the amount of
sugar consumed can quickly exceed what is healthy for adults and
children alike. Quite a few places have stopped serving candy and
cake altogether - while others have attempted to cut back.
Fortunately, that's no reason for a party to be boring. The book
Healthy Sweets offers a marvelous, wide range of healthy recipes
for sweet treats that taste wonderful and will make your special
occasions as festive as they ought to be.
Healthy Sweets is filled with fabulous, easyto- make recipes for
all sorts of delicious treats - treats that are healthier. Here you
will find healthy candy, cakes, ice cream, and other sweets for all
ages and every occasion. The treats include tempting mango-dream
ice cream bars, double chocolate cookies, blueberry muffins, and
crisp nut snacks. All of them are made without wheat or sugar,
using pure raw ingredients.
You'll also find recipes for a quick power snack for the
afternoon - including a superfood snack made from mixed berries and
nuts (almonds, goji, acai, and dried blueberries) - and delicious
hibiscus juice, fizzy lemonade and almond-lime bars.
The recipes are presented with appealing illustrations and an
inviting layout. Healthy Sweets is the perfect book for anyone who
would like to cut down on their sugar consumption, and it is
therefore of interest to diabetics and those who are allergic to
gluten.
