ABOUT THE BOOK
All around us grow healthy, eatable
delicacies, goodies to spark up the daily cooking - and all of them
are free! Besides, a trip to nature's pantry is simply good mental
hygiene. To Anette Eckmann, venturing into the woods to collect
eatable plants, herbs, berries, fruits, roots, nuts, mushrooms and
bark is a passion ... and at home in her kitchen she turns them
into the most scrumptious juices and syrups, chutneys and
marmalades, seasoned butter, herbal teas and soups.
Nature's pantry focuses on
eatable things that are easy to find and that you cannot mistake
for uneatable or poisonous plants. It's a reference book, covering
everything from Birch and Blackberries to Elder and Angelica and to
Wood sorrel and Violets. A calendar shows you when it's time for
nature's gastronomic goodies, and the book has tips on tools and
how to bring the things home to your kitchen.
