During research for her Master's thesis
about prostitution, Amalie Samsøe meets the charismatic
luxury prostitute Victoria, who studies medicine and fights for
free prostitution. Aclose, but also tense relationship develops
between the two women, which blurs the boundaries between fine
principles and personal engagement.
After a gruesome murder in the prostitution environment, Amalie
and Victoria take on the task of smuggling a Nigerian woman down
through Europe. The journey takes an unexpected turn and all of a
sudden they find themselves in the underworld of prostitution where
voodoo magic, drug dealing and perverted customers with unlimited
access to crematorium ovens are part of everyday life.
'The labyrinth of lust' is a story about the inhuman, but also
positive relationships in a Copenhagen brothel, about illegal
trading with customers' sperm and about trafficking. First and
foremost, however, it is the story about the unpredictability of
lust, the complex nature of love and about the horrifying revenge
of the rejected lover.
