ABOUT THE BOOK
While Carl Mørck is
experiencing personal problems in connection with a homicide case,
an assault in Copenhagen sends his stubborn assistant Rose digging
in the files of the prostitute Rita Nielsen, a file sitting in a
pile of shelved cases in the basement at police headquarters. When
Carl and Assad are pressured to take on the case, it turns up
suspicious leads to an isolated island to which the government used
to deport fallen women and leaving them to their fates. For some it
resulted in endless abuse and power, for others it was hell on
Earth. Before long, Carl and co. are involved in yet another
action-packed drama.
